THE POLLS ARE TRICKLING IN FROM CALIFORNIA, and they show the public supports a crackdown on violent immigrants.
IT’S A COMPLICATED ISSUE, NO DOUBT, but the public seems weary of the crime and high taxes and liberal rhetoric that has the beautiful state reeling.
TRUMP’S STRONGEST ISSUE is immigration. He has failed on Russia, the Mideast, the economy and dealing with Congress. But he knows what got him elected: the public’s strong opposition to illegal immigration.
WE CITE AS EVIDENCE THE COLORFUL CNN polltaker Harry Enten, who says Trump is “begging for a fight” over immigration — and Democrats “don’t have a clue” on how to handle it. Trump’s ratings on immigration “have gone up like a rocket,” Enten says.
DID TRUMP PROVOKE NEWSOM and the state’s vocal left? Probably, and there’s a chance Trump will over-play his hand with a military parade in Washington this weekend. But he’s determined to push ahead if violence erupts in Chicago, Atlanta, New York, etc.,
FOR DECADES, CALIRORNIA was the national trend setter, but now the state is crippled by spending and taxes, and thousands of people have fled to Texas, Nevada and elsewhere. Newsom needs the violence to stop; the longer it persists the weaker his 2028 presidential aspirations will get.
TRUMP DOESN’T HAVE TO WORRY about the 2028 election. We think the urban violence may spread to other cities as Trump deports thousands of illegal immigrants — and as the country continues to fracture.
